It is often said that Turkey is the bridge between east and west. The 2015 WWD Collaborative Project was held from March 7th to March 21st in Eskisehir, Turkey. It included 23 wood artists, representing 17 countries and 4 continents, with a very limited time. The mission is to create a large-scale woodcarving sculpture with a theme "bridge". While the artists consider the bridge as a symbol to connect diverse cultures and people from around the world, the slogan was selected from the verses of the Turkish poet Yunus Emre: " The world should be left to no one". Beginning with group discussions till agreed on an initial design and separated into design team and carving team, the bridge sculpture was successfully improvised and built on a snowy night before WWD event was officially started.
